No town has spawned more character-filled Web ventures, from self-published diaries of life in New York to gigantic commercial ventures. But sometimes, the best stands alone. With an overwhelming number of votes, New York's very own Metrobeat walked away with all the marbles. Mark Davies' wonderful online listings service is one site that surfers in this town visit again and again to stay up with the scene.
