Software & Design was contracted by StarMedia for database architecture, systems engineering and product development. Our task was to design, engineer, and develop the central user repository and programming interface to be used by StarMedia developers. The system was built to contain and manage StarMedia's online users across multiple products.

Given the imminent release of two new StarMedia products and a fast approaching IPO it was essential that the central database component be designed carefully, developed on schedule, and built to sustain rapid and expansive growth.

The solution arrived on time and met the requirements for high user demand. We successfully integrated StarMedia's existing products into one central system and provided a simple and complete application programming interface to StarMedia's development team. We migrated data, performed necessary quality assurance, and helped to ensure a stable technology transfer for StarMedia at a critical moment in the history of its development as a premier online community for Latin America.
